Cleaning Specialist

Position Summary Cleaning Specialist:

The Cleaning Specialist will be part of the Westbrook-based Maintenance team that works to maintain a standard of facility cleanliness that will meet the needs of Woodfords Family Services' staff, our consumers and their families, and our community partners. The Cleaning Specialist will provide preschool facility cleaning for Woodfords Family Services' Pineland Campus preschool in New Gloucester.

 

Schedule:

  • This is a full-time (30 to 35 hours weekly) Monday - Friday position, 9am to 3 or 4pm
  • Potential for schedule flexibility (work fewer days for longer hours)
  • Flexibility required to come in prior to normal school hours, or after, for deep cleaning and/or disinfecting the classrooms and preschool as needed

 

Pay: $13.00 hourly

  • Potential for $0.50/hour wage increase upon successful completion of 60-day introductory period

Requirements of the Cleaning Specialist include:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Must have general knowledge of custodial duties
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work well with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures
  • Must have a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and regular use of a reliable vehicle

 

Responsibilities of the Cleaning Specialist include:

  • Clean and disinfect the preschool within the guidelines specified by the Director of Facilities and the Preschool Coordinator
  • Utilize computer skills to document time
  • Perform inspections on buildings for cleanliness and make appropriate suggestions to the Director of Facilities to enhance the buildings general upkeep
  • Be able to flex hours to come in prior to normal school hours, or after, for deep cleaning and/or disinfecting the classrooms and preschool as needed
  • Maintain and service Woodfords Family Services cleaning equipment
  • Wear appropriate protective equipment and clothing to prevent injury and infections
  • Keep employee entrances free from snow and ice by shoveling and salting as needed
  • Maintain cleaning and building supplies and inform the Director of Facilities when supplies need to be ordered
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and/or the Preschool Coordinator
