Waterville Preschool

  

Our Ed Techs teach and support children ages 2 to 5 with autism and developmental disabilities to learn skills that help them to be successful in their homes, schools, and communities.

  • Be a part of great team that teaches preschool students the skills needed to be ready for kindergarten.

Compensation for Preschool Teachers:  

  • $13.00 to $15.00 hourly (hourly rate depends on education and experience)
  • $0.50 increase if employee is hired with current Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) certification 

 

Schedule: 

  • Monday - Friday: 8am to 3:30pm
  • 37.5 hours weekly 
  • Year-round (including summer) schedule

Key Qualifications of our Preschool Teachers:

  • A minimum of  60 to 90 credit hours required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, in special education, early childhood or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years' experience preferred and the desire to work with children with special needs.
  • Ability to work a year-round, Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 3:30pm schedule
  • Good documentation skills
  • A positive attitude and high energy level

                           

Role of  an Ed Techs in our Preschool Classrooms:

  • Work directly with the preschool students providing hands-on guidance while helping them meet their individualized goals.
  • Help guide students toward fulfilling their potential for cognitive, social and emotional growth and maturation. 
  • Be a key member of the Early Childhood Education program working independently with a preschool student and cooperatively with a like-minded team, including BCBAs. 
  • Teach students the skills they need to be prepared for kindergarten.
  • Work a Monday - Friday schedule from 8am to 3:30 pm

We take the time to teach our Ed Tech IIIs the skills and strategies needed to be successful in our preschool classrooms. We offer on-going supervision.
