Shared Living Direct Support Professional (DSP)

 

Woodfords is growing and has a casual position (16 hours/week) open for a Direct Support Professionals (DSP) within our Shared Living Program. The Shared Living Program is designed to provide family/home-based services to adults with developmental disabilities who are not able to live independently. This program is an alternative to group home living.

The role of the Direct Support Professional (DSP) in our Shared Living Program is to provide care for an adult with developmental disabilities within the Shared Living Provider's home.

 

Responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional (DSP):

  • Provide transportation
  • Oversee medical appointments
  • Medication administration
  • Direct care

 

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 4pm to 8pm

 

Qualifications of a Direct Support Professional (DSP):

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Use of reliable vehicle with current insurance
  • Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification or successful completion of the full DSP course within 6 months of hire (paid by Woodfords)
  • C.R.M.A. certification or successful completion of C.R.M.A. course (paid by Woodfords) within 6 months of hire
  • Good physical strength; able to bend, lift and stand
