Foster Family Support Worker/Foster Family Visitation Supervisor

 

Woodfords Family Services is growing and has an opening for a casual position as a (10-19 hours) combined Foster Family Support Worker/Visitation Supervisor within the Therapeutic Foster Care Program.

Woodfords' Therapeutic Foster Care Program provides treatment-level foster care to children birth to 21 years with developmental and/or emotional disabilities who cannot reside with their biological family. With the support of trained foster parents and Woodfords' Therapeutic Foster Care treatment team, children are offered guidance with psychological, emotional, social, behavioral and learning issues. The best interests of the child/children are served, while the team promotes family reunification and life skills acquisition.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to a foster child including instruction on daily living skills, social interaction, behavior management and relief services to foster parents
  • Supervise visits between children in foster care and their biological families. May be asked to testify in court regarding these visits
  • Provide written supervision visit report for each visit
  • Attend all required trainings for the position
  • Provide transport of child/children to and from visits as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related Human Service field is preferred
  • Must possess at least (2) two years of experience in the field
  • Must possess one year's experience in child and/or adult foster/family care
  • Must be knowledgeable about regulatory guidelines
  • Must possess a valid State of Maine driver's license and have use of a vehicle
  • Must possess good organization, communication and interpersonal relationship skills
